What Is Reiki?

A moment to pause. A space to reconnect.

In a world that rarely slows down, finding time for yourself can feel like a luxury.

At Clarity Reiki & Wellbeing, we believe that taking time to rest, reflect and reconnect with yourself is an important part of looking after your wellbeing.

Reiki offers a gentle, calming experience designed to give you space away from the demands of everyday life.

Understanding Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese complementary wellbeing practice that uses gentle hand placements, either lightly on the body or just above it.

The word Reiki is commonly translated as universal life energy.

Rooted in Japanese traditions, Reiki is based on the belief that energy flows through living things. Practitioners use a series of hand positions with the intention of supporting balance and wellbeing.

Many people experience Reiki as a deeply relaxing practice and use their sessions as an opportunity to slow down, become more mindful and enjoy a sense of calm.

You don't need to have experienced Reiki before, or hold any particular beliefs, to enjoy a session.

Why Choose Reiki?

People come to Reiki for many different reasons. Some are navigating busy professional or family lives, while others simply want an hour that's entirely their own.

A Reiki session may offer:

A peaceful environment to relax and unwind.

Time away from everyday pressures and distractions.

An opportunity for quiet reflection and mindfulness.

A gentle addition to your personal self-care routine.

Space to reconnect with yourself and your wellbeing.

Reiki is a complementary wellbeing practice, not a medical treatment.

Scientific evidence has not established that Reiki can treat or cure health conditions, and it should not replace medical advice or prescribed treatment.
